Quentin Tarantino films of the 21st Century

Grindhouse
The 2007 film ‘Grindhouse’ was written, produced and directed by ‘Robert Rodriguez’ and Quentin Tarantino. It is a double feature which has two feature-length parts, consisting of ‘Planet Terror’ which was directed by Rodriguez and ‘Death Proof’ directed by Tarantino.  The title of the film comes from the U.S. film industry term ‘Grindhouse’ this refers to film theatres which specialise in ‘B movies’ or exploitation films.
‘Planet Terror’ is about a gang of rebels who are trying to survive an onslaught of zombie-like creatures as they fight with a rogue military unit.
‘Death Proof’ looks at a misogynistic, psychopathic stunt man who preys on young women, then murdering them with his stunt car.
‘Grindhouse’ had more success on DVD and Blu-ray than it did at the cinema.

Kill Bill
Tarantino’s movie ‘Kill Bill’ was released as a two-part film in both 2003 and 2004.
In Volume 1 ‘The Bride’ belongs to an assassination squad that is lead by her lover ‘Bill’, after becoming pregnant with his child she decides to escape her life as a killer and start her life again in another place. She settles in Texas and meets a man who she later marries. However on the day of the wedding the pregnant ‘Bride’ is shot and falls into a coma. When she wakes up from the coma she realizes that her baby has gone. Because of this she seeks revenge ‘Bill’ and the assassination team that she was once part of because they betrayed her.
In Volume 2 the ‘Bride’ continues her angry revenge on the assassination team.
Sin City
‘Sin City’ was released in 2005. Tarantino was a special guest director on this crime, thriller film. The story is about four crime tales that are adapted from ‘Frank Miller’s’ comics. Where a man who is fed up with ‘Sin City’s’ corrupt law enforcement goes on a violent rampage to try and find his lovers killer he takes the law into his own hands and the story unfolds into high drama.
